| Abstract | No Pantanal de Mato Grosso do Sul a pecuária bovina de corte tem por característica o deslocamento do gado, refletindo a sujeição da atividade ao ritmo das inundações naturais da região, que determina a oferta das pastagens e da área disponível para a ocupação. Eventos extremos de cheias e de secas recentes implicaram em prejuízos e no aumento de custos, como a suplementação alimentar, a venda compulsória e a morte dos bovinos por afogamento ou fome. Presumindo a sazonalidade das inundações uma condição para a movimentação dos rebanhos, este trabalho objetivou caracterizar o fluxo do gado dos municípios do Pantanal Sul Mato-Grossense, verificando sua interação com a cheia ocorrida em 2011. Foram utilizados dados hidrometeorológicos de diferentes pontos da Planície com o intuito de compreender a dinâmica espacial de inundação, e dados do trânsito mensal de bovinos, para construção da matriz de um grafo e representação em Sistema de Informações Geográficas. Índices anuais de conectividade e eficiência das redes de trânsito foram calculados e comparados. Os resultados revelaram um padrão intenso de fluxo, com variações intra Pantanal, entre Planície e Planalto e entre municípios. Para 2011, foi identificada a redução de fluxo em áreas ao sul, mais afetados pela inundação, como Porto Murtinho. Os resultados reforçaram o discurso de fluidez como estratégia adaptativa da pecuária bovina pantaneira, demonstraram uma dimensão dos efeitos do evento extremo de cheia, sobre a atividade, e endossam uma perspectiva de território descontínuo e em movimento da criação de gado no Pantanal, construído em forma de redes. ABSTRACT: In the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul State the beef cattle features the displacement of the cattle, reflecting the subjection of the activity to the rhythm of the natural flooding of the region, which determines the pastures supply and the area available for occupation. Extreme events of floods and recent droughts resulted in losses and costs increasement, such as food supplementation, the compulsory sale and the cattle death by drowning or starvation. Assuming the seasonality of flooding as a condition for the movement of livestock, this study aimed to characterize the cattle flow of the municipalities of the Pantanal Sul Mato-Grossense, checking their interaction with the great flood occurred in 2011. It was used hydrometeorological data from different points of the Plain trying to understand the spatial dynamics of inundation and monthly traffic cattle data to build the matrix of a grafhs and representation in geographic information system. Connectivity and efficiency anual rates of networks were calculated and compared. The results revealed an intense flow pattern, with variations intra Pantanal, between Plain and Plateau and between municipalities. For 2011, it was identified the flow reduction in the south municipalities, the most affected by the flooding, like Porto Murtinho. The results reinforced the speech of flow as an adaptive strategy of Pantaneira beef cattle, it showed a dimension of extreme event effects great flood on activity, and endorses a perspective of discontinuous territory and "moving" of the cattle creation in the Pantanal, built in networks shape. | |||
